This Accreditation Program Manual contains the standards for accreditation for family counselling agencies in Canada. The standards are organized into the following modules or sections:

  • Governance (G)*
  • Administration (A)*
  • General Program (GP)*
  • Family Counselling (FC)
  • Family Life Education (FLE)
  • Community Support Services (CSS)
  • Employee Assistance (EAP)***
  • Credit Counselling (CC)**
  • Families and Schools Together (F&ST)

* mandatory for all agencies
** mandatory for agencies operating that program
*** mandatory for Family Service EAP member agencies

The Manual also includes general information respecting the accreditation process, including:

  • eligibility for accreditation,
  • application process,
  • preparation of Self-Study,
  • on-site review,
  • accreditation decision process,
  • accreditation costs.
